The Broken Girl In The Mall Recognized The Gold Chain

Officer Hayes stepped forward, pulling heavy steel handcuffs from his utility belt as the investors backed away in utter shock.

Officer Hayes: Daniel Vance, you are under arrest for grand larceny, identity fraud, child endangerment, and forgery.

Daniel: Get your hands off me! Do you know who my lawyer is?!

Officer Hayes: Your lawyer can meet you at the county jail. Turn around!

The officers pinned Daniel against the grand mahogany railing, snapping the cuffs tightly around his wrists.

Daniel: Carter, please! We're brothers! We can share the estate! I'll give you half!

Carter: You don't have half to give. Every single penny you spent is being clawed back by the state court.

Lily: You took my mom's jewelry, Uncle Daniel. Where is her wedding ring?

Daniel: It's... it's in the safe in the master bedroom!

Carter: We'll be taking that back now, along with the keys to my house.

Veronica stumbled backward toward her luxury sports car parked in the driveway, crying hysterically.

Veronica: My reputation is completely ruined! Everyone in the city saw me on that mall footage!

Officer Hayes: Don't go too far, ma'am. You still have an arraignment summons for assault on a disabled minor next Tuesday.

Veronica: Assault?! I barely tapped her crutch!

Lily: You kicked it with all your force, and you laughed at my baby brother!

Officer Hayes: The video footage doesn't lie, ma'am. See you in court.

The police officers led a sobbing Daniel down the front steps, shoving him into the back seat of the cruiser as the red and blue lights flashed against the mansion pillars.

The investors quickly gathered their coats and fled down the driveway without saying another word.

Carter turned to look at the massive mansion, then looked down at Lily, who was smiling through her tears.

Carter: Let's go get your mom's ring, baby. And then we're fixing your leg and buying Leo all the toys he wants.

Lily: Are we really coming home, Dad?

Carter: We're home for good, Lily. Nobody is ever taking this away from us again.
