Victoria: No! Get away from me! Don't touch me!
Victoria thrashed wildly as two uniformed police officers stepped up to the head of the conference table. They grabbed her arms, pinning them behind her white designer blazer as the cold steel handcuffs clicked tightly around her wrists.
Detective Miller: Victoria Vance, you are under arrest for attempted murder, aggravated assault on a pregnant woman, corporate fraud, and evidence tampering.
Victoria: Dad! Call our defense attorneys! Don't let them take me in handcuffs!
Councilman Vance: Victoria... I can't help you this time. The video has your voice and your face clearly captured.
Julian: And Chief Davis was arrested twenty minutes ago, Victoria. He gave a full digital confession stating you paid him fifty thousand dollars to destroy the foyer hard drive.
Victoria's face turned pale as sweat broke out across her forehead. The arrogant composure she had maintained for weeks completely shattered into desperate, hysterical weeping.
Victoria: Julian! Please! I loved you! I did it because I wanted us to be together like we used to be!
Julian: You didn't love me, Victoria. You loved money, power, and status. And now you have lost all three.
The officers turned her around, escorting her out of the boardroom into the hallway. News camera crews, tipped off by the district attorney's office, swarmed the elevator lobby as Victoria was led out in restraints.
Reporter A: Miss Vance! Is it true you pushed Cora Sterling down the marble stairs?
Reporter B: Did you attempt to eliminate the primary heir to the Sterling trust fund?
Flashbulbs exploded continuously, capturing every tear running down Victoria's ruined face as she tried to cover her head with her hands.
Victoria: Stop recording me! Put those cameras away!
Detective Miller: Mind your head getting into the cruiser, ma'am.
The heavy police car door slammed shut with a sharp metallic thud, cutting off her shrill screaming as the cruiser pulled away from the corporate tower, its sirens echoing through the city streets.
Julian stood on the front steps of the corporate building, taking a deep, refreshing breath of the cool morning air. Marcus walked up beside him, tapping a thick legal folder against his hand.
Marcus: All accounts associated with the Vance family have been permanently frozen by the probate court, Julian. The sixty percent trust share is officially secured for your son.
Julian: Thank you, Marcus. Let me get back to the hospital. My wife and son are waiting for me.
