Leo: Daddy! Can I play the piano song for the guests now?
Ethan: Are you sure you want to play in front of all these people, Leo?
Leo: Yes! Clara said my song is beautiful and that mean people can't stop me from playing!
Ethan smiled, kneeling down to fix Leo's small black bow tie.
Ethan: Then go ahead, buddy. The stage is all yours.
Leo walked proudly up to the grand piano in the center of the ballroom, sitting carefully on the velvet bench.
The crowd went completely silent as the young boy began to play his mother's classical song, his small fingers moving effortlessly across the keys.
The music rose through the air, sweet and pure, filling every corner of the giant room with warmth.
Clara stood beside Ethan near the edge of the stage, wiping a tear from her cheek as she watched the boy play.
Ethan: He hasn't played like that since Sarah passed away three years ago.
Clara: He just needed to know that his home is a safe place, Mr. Vance.
Ethan: Call me Ethan, Clara. Please.
Clara looked up at him, meeting his dark, warm eyes in the soft glow of the ballroom lights.
Clara: Okay... Ethan.
Ethan: My lawyer finalized the documents this evening. Victoria's father agreed to pay full financial restitution to avoid further lawsuits against his firm.
Clara: What will happen to Victoria?
Ethan: She is being held without bail until her hearing on Monday. She will face full accountability for what she did.
Clara: She thought money could buy her immunity from everything.
Ethan: Money buys a lot of things, but it can never buy character or loyalty.
The piano piece finished with a gentle, ringing chord, and the entire room broke into an energetic standing ovation.
Leo bowed dramatically from the piano bench, making the guests laugh and applaud even louder.
He ran across the stage and jumped right into Ethan's arms, who lifted him high into the air with a big laugh.
Leo: Did I do good, Daddy?!
Ethan: You were incredible, Leo! Your mother would be so proud of you tonight.
Leo turned toward Clara, reaching out his small arms to hug her around the neck.
Leo: Thank you for helping me, Clara!
Clara: You did all the hard work, sweetheart. You played wonderfully.
Ethan put his arm around Clara's shoulder, pulling her close as the guests continued to cheer for the family.
Ethan: You brought light back into this house, Clara. We are never letting you go.
Clara: I'm not going anywhere, Ethan. I'm right where I belong.
As the evening continued, the echoes of Victoria's harsh anger vanished completely, replaced by laughter, music, and the peaceful sound of a restored home.
