Jonathan: What in God's name is going on in this hallway?!
Jonathan Vance stood framed in the double doorway, his crisp dark suit sharp against the light, his face contorted into a mask of pure fury.
Victoria's haughty expression faltered for a split second, her hand dropping limply to her side as she realized her husband had returned early from the corporate boardroom.
Victoria: Jonathan, darling! Thank goodness you're here—this insubordinate maid attacked me!
Clara: That is a complete lie, Mr. Vance! She was about to strike your mother!
Jonathan ignored his wife entirely, his long strides carrying him past her with a cold, focused intensity that made the air feel suddenly freezing.
He dropped to his knees beside Martha's wheelchair, his broad shoulders slumping slightly as he looked down at his trembling mother with deep, agonizing concern.
Jonathan: Mother, are you alright? Did she hurt you?
Martha: I'm okay, son... Clara got here just in time... she saved me from the blow...
Jonathan pressed a gentle kiss to his mother's frail hand, his jaw clenching so hard that the muscles in his temples throbbed visibly.
Jonathan: You are safe now, Mom. I'm right here, and nobody is ever going to lay a hand on you again.
Victoria crossed her arms over her sparkling silver gown, her initial panic melting back into an arrogant, entitled sneer as she looked down at them.
Victoria: Honestly, Jonathan, making such a fuss over a senile old woman. She's just taking up space in the master suite anyway.
Jonathan rose slowly to his feet, his height and imposing build casting a dark shadow over the bright, sunlit marble floor.
He turned around with a mechanical stiffness, his eyes locking onto Victoria with a gaze so dark and murderous it made her take an involuntary step back.
Victoria: What? Are you going to believe a hired servant and an old woman over your own legally wedded wife?
Jonathan: I saw enough from the doorway to know exactly what kind of monster you really are, Victoria.
Victoria: You signed a prenuptial agreement, yes, but my lawyers will strip you of half this estate if you dare raise your voice to me!
Jonathan: Estate? You care about my money while you terrorize my mother in her final years?
Victoria: She belongs in a nursing home! I didn't marry a billionaire to babysit an invalid!
Jonathan: You married me for my wealth, and you thought you could treat my family like trash behind my back.
Victoria: Prove it! You have no proof of anything, Jonathan. It's her word against mine!
Jonathan: Clara has been telling me the truth for months, and the security cameras recorded every single vile thing you did.
Victoria's face finally drained of all color, the reality of her impending ruin crashing down upon her like a tidal wave.
Victoria: Cameras? You've been spying on me in my own home?!
Jonathan: I was protecting my family from a gold-digging predator, and now you are going to pay the ultimate price.
