The Lawyer Arrives

The Arrogant Stepmother Slapped My Maid But Regretted It

A tall man with gray hair and a formal leather briefcase entered the office.

Mr. Vance looked at the open empty safe and then at Victoria's red dress.

Mr. Vance: Good morning Julian, I brought the legal paperwork you requested earlier.

Victoria: What paperwork did he request behind my back, tell me right now!

Mr. Vance: Mr. Julian hired a private investigation team three long weeks ago.

Victoria's hands began to shake heavily as she dropped her arms to her sides.

Julian: We know all about your hidden gambling debts in the city, Victoria.

Mr. Vance: You owe over two million dollars to several private lending companies.

Victoria backed up against the painted wall, her face totally drained of color now.

Victoria: Julian, please, I was going to pay every single dollar back soon!

Julian: You used my home, my staff, and my late wife's memory to cheat me.

Victoria: I love you, Julian, you cannot throw me out like trash!

Julian: You slapped an innocent woman today because she caught you stealing gold.

Sarah stood by the doorway, holding little Leo safely behind her blue apron skirt.

The young boy looked up at Sarah and gave her a small warm smile.

Young Leo: Thank you for protecting my mommy's special star necklace, Miss Sarah.

Sarah: You are very welcome, little Leo, everything will be completely okay now.

Mr. Vance pulled a thick white paper document from his heavy leather briefcase slowly.

Mr. Vance: Mrs. Victoria, you signed a strict prenuptial agreement before the wedding.

Victoria: That agreement is totally unfair and my lawyers will fight it hard!

Mr. Vance: The agreement states clearly that any theft voids all alimony payments.

Victoria sank down onto the leather couch, burying her face in her manicured hands.

She knew her carefully constructed life of absolute luxury was completely falling apart fast.

Julian walked over to her and extended his right hand toward her trembling neck.

Julian: Take off my late wife's star necklace and hand it to me.
