Victoria: Look at you! This dress is far too expensive for a street rat like you!
Clara: How... how could you do this to me?
Victoria: I am saving this party from low-class trash who think they can blend in with billionaires!
Tears spilled over Clara’s eyelashes, running down her pale cheeks. She clutched the torn fabric against her chest, her breathing shallow and ragged. Guests stepped back into a wide circle, whispering behind their hands while pointing at the weeping young woman.
Julian, Victoria’s fiancé, pushed his way through the crowd. He wore a tailored black tuxedo with a small American flag pin pinned neatly over his chest. His face was flushed with intense fury as he looked at the ruined dress, then glared directly into Clara’s tear-stained face.
Julian: What is wrong with you?! Why are you causing a scene in my mother’s house?
Clara: I didn't cause a scene! She tore my dress for no reason!
Julian: Do not speak back to my fiancée! Apologize to my mother and Victoria right now! You don't belong here!
Clara: Apologize? She attacked me in front of two hundred people!
Julian: You step foot into a private luxury hall in rags and insult the hosts! You should be on your knees begging for forgiveness!
Victoria’s mother, Eleanor, stepped forward in her green satin gown, her face twisted in utter disgust as she smoothed her diamond bracelets.
Eleanor: Julian is right. Call security immediately and have this beggar thrown into the street!
Julian: I am calling the police myself! You are going to spend the night in a holding cell for trespassing!
Clara: I have official legal business in this mansion, Julian. You are making a massive mistake.
Julian: The only mistake here was letting a peasant past the front security gates!
Julian raised his hand, pointing a finger fiercely at Clara’s face, his voice echoing off the high marble walls as guests murmured in agreement.
Julian: Get out of my sight before I have my guards drag you out by your hair!
Before the security guards could take a single step toward Clara, a formal male assistant in a sharp grey suit pushed through the double doors. He held a thick brown leather document binder stamped with a gold seal, walking fast toward Eleanor and Julian.
Assistant: Madam, stop! The background file has been prepared!
