Victoria followed Samantha closely as she hurried up the wide carpeted stairs.
Samantha did not head toward the home office at the end of the hall.
Instead, she turned left and walked directly toward the baby's nursery room.
Victoria's instincts kicked in immediately as her heart rate began to race fast.
Victoria: Samantha, the baby is sleeping in that room right now!
Samantha: I know exactly where the original land deed was hidden.
Samantha opened the nursery door without knocking or checking inside first.
She walked straight toward the wooden crib near the sunlit window sill.
Victoria stepped quickly into the room and positioned herself next to the crib.
Victoria: Please lower your voice and leave this room immediately.
Samantha: You think you won everything when you married into this family.
Samantha reached into her tote bag and pulled out a manila folder.
Samantha: My father was confused when he signed that new trust document.
Victoria: That is completely untrue and you know the lawyer verified it.
Samantha: A court will overturn that will once I present this evidence.
Samantha stepped closer to the crib, reaching toward the small decorative pillow.
Underneath that satin pillow lay the original copy of the trust agreement.
Mark had placed it there earlier while rearranging the wall safe behind it.
Samantha grabbed the decorative pillow and pressed her hand down over the documents.
She tried to slide the legal folder out from under the baby's blanket line.
Clara stirred in her sleep and began to whimpers softly at the noise.
Victoria: Get your hands away from her crib this instant!
Samantha: This paperwork belongs to me and my husband, not you!
Victoria lunged forward and grabbed Samantha's wrist to push her back.
Samantha tried to shove Victoria back against the nursery wall behind them.
Samantha: You came from nothing and you will leave with nothing!
Victoria: Leave my child and this house before I call the police!
The two women stood inches apart in a heated, breathless standoff.
Clara began to cry louder as the harsh voices echoed off the walls.
Victoria quickly pulled the decorative pillow away and secured her crying infant.
She held Clara tightly against her chest, shielding her from Samantha's view.
Samantha: Keep holding her, but that money will never be yours!
Victoria: This is about Clara's future, not your greed for status!
Samantha: If she is disqualified as heir, the property comes to us!
Victoria gasped at the cold arrogance in Samantha's sharp, bitter voice.
She realized just how far her sister-in-law was willing to go for wealth.
Outside the bedroom window, two lawn care workers turned their heads in shock.
They could see the heated altercation happening inside through the clear glass window.
Samantha ignored the spectators outside and stepped closer with a snarl.
Samantha: Give me those papers right now or you will regret it!
Victoria: You will have to go through me first, Samantha!
