A Fight For Survival

Evelyn: You have disgraced this family! Take the baby away from her right now!

Clara: You picked the wrong mother to threaten, Evelyn!

Evelyn: Brandon, do not just stand there like an idiot! Grab the child before she leaves!

Brandon: Clara, hand Noah over to me right now. Do not make this any harder than it needs to be.

Clara: Touch him and see what happens to you, Brandon!

Brandon adjusted his dark tuxedo jacket, his jaw clenched tight with cold ambition. He took a fast, aggressive step down the lower stairs, moving directly toward Clara on the floor. He reached his large hands out, intending to snatch the white blanket from her arms. Clara did not hesitate or shrink back. With a fierce surge of protective strength, she rolled onto her back, keeping Noah safely tucked against her chest with her left arm. As Brandon lunged forward to grab the baby, Clara kicked her right leg out with all her force, landing a direct blow right in the middle of his chest.

The impact was sudden and loud. Brandon flew backward through the air, losing his balance completely under the force of Clara's desperation. His body slammed hard against the heavy glass coffee table in the center of the foyer sitting area. The thick tempered glass shattered into a thousand glittering pieces, crashing loudly across the dark hardwood floor. Brandon fell dazed among the broken glass, groaning in pain as his tuxedo got covered in clear dust and fragments. The entire mansion fell dead silent. Evelyn clutched her face with both hands, gasping in complete horror at the sight of her son lying flat on the floor.

Evelyn: Oh my god! Brandon! Look what you did to my son, you wild monster!

Clara: He tried to take my child! I will destroy anyone who touches my baby!

Evelyn: Guards! Someone call the police and have this violent woman locked away forever!

Clara: Go ahead and call them! Let everyone know what kind of criminals you really are!

Clara quickly pushed herself up from the hard floor, holding Noah tightly against her heart. Her heart pounded violently inside her chest as she checked her baby's face. Little Noah was sleeping quietly, entirely undisturbed by the loud crash. Clara glanced down at her wrist, checking her Apple Watch with a fast, urgent look under the bright daylight pouring into the room. The screen showed an active recording icon, glowing softly with a red timer dot. Every single cruel word Evelyn had yelled, every threat Brandon had made, and every demand to steal the infant had been recorded live and backed up automatically to a secure cloud server.

She looked up at Evelyn, who was trying to help Brandon sit up from the pile of shattered glass. The older woman's face was pale, all her pride melting into sudden fear as she noticed Clara looking down at her watch. Clara raised her arm slightly, letting her mother-in-law see the glowing red recording screen. The power dynamic in the grand sunlit room shifted in a single second. The helpless mother on the floor was no longer helpless; she was armed with undeniable truth that could ruin the Vance family name across the entire state of Texas within minutes.
