The Wine on Marble Floor

She Humiliated The Housekeeper Until His Return Changed Everything

The morning light streamed brightly through the floor-to-ceiling windows of the grand mansion hall.

Victoria stood in the center of the foyer holding a half-empty glass of dark red wine.

Her metallic designer dress glittered under the high chandeliers in the wide entrance room.

On the marble floor below, Elena knelt quietly as she wiped down the immaculate white stone.

Elena had worked as a humble housekeeper in the grand estate for nearly ten years.

She had always treated everyone in the household with deep respect and gentle care.

Yet Victoria seemed determined to make every single hour of Elena's shift completely miserable.

Victoria: You missed a spot right near my expensive Italian leather shoes!

Elena quickly adjusted her apron and wiped the bright tile with a soft cloth.

Elena: I am so sorry, Miss Victoria, I will clean it up immediately.

Victoria: You are always so clumsy and useless around this beautiful house!

Victoria deliberately tipped her crystal glass directly over the kneeling housekeeper's head.

Dark red wine spilled slowly down Elena's clean uniform and wet cheek.

Elena gasped in absolute shock as the cold liquid soaked into her simple fabric.

Tears welled up quickly in Elena's tired eyes as she kept her hands folded.

Victoria: Look at what you made me do to my favorite morning drink!

Elena: I did not mean to upset you at all, Miss Victoria.

Victoria: You should learn your place before you get thrown out on the street!

Victoria laughed softly as she watched Elena struggle to wipe her soaked face.

She took a step back and leaned against the white plaster pillar nearby.

She believed that nobody was around to witness her cruel behavior toward the worker.

Suddenly the heavy oak front doors flew wide open with a loud thumping crash.

The sharp sound echoed across the tall ceiling of the bright open foyer.

Julian stepped inside with a stern look across his sharp, handsome face.

He had returned unexpectedly early from his morning business trip across the city.

His gray designer suit was crisp, but his expression was dark with sudden anger.

Julian: What on earth is happening in my front hallway right now?

Victoria turned around instantly, dropping her glass onto the thick entry rug.

Victoria: Julian, darling! She tripped and ruined my beautiful afternoon dress!

Julian: I saw exactly what you just did with your wine glass!

Julian marched across the foyer with fast, firm footsteps on the marble.

His eyes were fixed on the crying woman kneeling helplessly on the ground.

Julian: Stop this terrible cruelty right now, Victoria!

Victoria gasped dramatically and clutched her gold necklace with both trembling hands.

Victoria: How can you take the side of a simple hired servant over me?

Julian ignored Victoria completely and knelt down right beside the wet floor.

He placed his warm hand gently on Elena's shaking shoulder to comfort her.

Julian: Don't cry anymore, Elena. You are completely safe in this house.

Elena: Thank you, Mr. Julian. I was so scared of losing my job.

Julian: You will never lose your position here for something you did not do.
