David Vance pulled his dark luxury sedan into the long gravel driveway.
He rubbed his tired eyes after finishing a long corporate meeting.
David worked tirelessly as a chief executive officer for his firm.
He managed a large family trust fund left by his father.
His main priority was ensuring his mother Eleanor received great care.
He knew his wife Victoria cared mostly about wealth and status.
David checked his leather briefcase before opening the front door quietly.
He immediately heard loud screaming coming from the kitchen area.
His heart raced fast as he dropped his heavy leather bag.
David: Put that object down right now!
Victoria jumped in total shock and turned around very quickly.
She tried to hide the bronze candlestick behind her green shirt.
A fake and nervous smile appeared on her pale face instantly.
Victoria: Honey, you arrived home so early today!
David: What on earth are you doing with that weapon?
Victoria: I was only scaring this thief away from our house!
Victoria pointed toward Clara with an exaggerated expression of anger.
Victoria: She keeps stealing my valuable things from the bedroom!
David looked directly at Clara, who stood calmly beside Eleanor.
Clara's eyes were filled with honesty rather than deep fear.
David: Clara has worked here for months without any issue.
Victoria: Are you taking the maid's word over your wife?
David: Do not dare lie to me ever again, Victoria!
David walked forward with fast and heavy footsteps across the floor.
He snatched the bronze candlestick right out of Victoria's hands.
He set it down firmly on the thick marble counter top.
A large American flag hung quietly on the grand wall nearby.
Victoria took a step back while gasping in complete disbelief.
Victoria: How can you talk to me like this today?
David: Because I finally know what you have been doing!
The room became totally quiet as David reached into his pocket.
Victoria's hands began to shake control as panic set in.
