You Married The Wrong Woman

Sarah: Don't move a single muscle, Daniel.

He thrashed wildly beneath me, his eyes wide with utter shock and rising panic as he tried to break my grip. But my leverage was absolute, pinning his shoulder joints so tightly that every movement brought a sharp gasp of pain from his throat. His muffled grunts echoed uselessly against the plush pillows.

Sarah: Did you really think I was just a weak little girl you could control with a stick?

Daniel: Mmmph! Mmmph!

Sarah: Look at me, Daniel. Look at my face.

I leaned down, my voice dropping to a fierce, icy whisper right against his ear. The gentle, smiling bride he had walked down the aisle only eight hours ago was completely gone. In her place was a woman whose eyes burned with dangerous, cold authority.

Sarah: You married the wrong woman.

I shifted my weight slightly, using my knee to pin both of his wrists firmly behind his back. With my free hand, I reached across the bedside table, grabbing the heavy brass room telephone and slamming the receiver off its hook. My fingers quickly dialed the three-digit code for ship security and emergency services.

Cruise Operator: Emergency dispatch, state your cabin number and the nature of your emergency.

Sarah: Cabin 804, Royal Imperial Suite. I need ship security and federal maritime officers immediately. My husband just attempted to assault me with a weapon.

Cruise Operator: Ma'am, are you in a safe location? Do you need medical assistance?

Sarah: I don't need medical help, but he might. I have the suspect disarmed and pinned to the bed. Send officers to break down the door right now.

Daniel: Mmmph! Sarah, stop! Let me go!

Sarah: Stay down, Daniel! If you try to lift your head off that mattress, I will break your arm in three places before security even reaches this deck!

He went completely limp, heavy tears of fear streaming down his face as he realized his helpless position. The arrogant bully who had threatened me seconds ago was now shivering under my grip, trapped inside the very room he had hoped to turn into my prison.

Daniel: Sarah... please... it was a joke! I was just testing you! I swear I wasn't really going to hit you!

Sarah: A joke? Bringing a weapon in a suitcase and bragging about your abusive father was a joke?

Daniel: I was nervous! I drank too much champagne at the reception! Please, don't call the police, it will ruin my family's name!

Sarah: Your family's name is the least of your concerns, Daniel. You just tried to commit a violent felony on an international cruise ship.

Heavy, rushing footsteps echoed down the carpeted hallway outside our cabin suite. Loud, authoritative thumps began pounding against the thick wooden door, making the brass lock rattle in its frame.

Ship Security: Security! Open the door! We have a master key card!

Sarah: The door is unlocked! Come in!

The electronic key card beeped green, and the heavy cabin door burst open. Four large security guards in black tactical uniforms rushed into the suite, their hands resting on their holsters as they took in the shocking scene. Instead of finding a terrified bride cowering in a corner, they found me standing tall in my white wedding dress, holding a grown man pinned flat to the mattress.
