The Sky Falls On Dallas

My Evil Fiance Tried To Hurt Me Then My Father Arrived

Julian ran to the penthouse control panel near the hallway, wildly tapping the digital screen to lock all private elevators and fire doors. He was breathing heavily, his dark blue tuxedo now rumpled and damp with sweat as his carefully constructed plan fell apart completely. Amber remained on the floor near the giant window, watching the city lights flicker thousands of feet below her trembling frame. She knew her father's past in special military operations meant he would not wait for standard police dispatch procedures to take place. Arthur Sterling possessed private security assets, tactical vehicles, and connections at the highest levels of federal law enforcement across the state. Suddenly, a low frequency vibration began to rattle the thick glass panes of the penthouse, shaking the decorative vases on the shelves. The deep rhythmic thudding sound grew louder every second, echoing over the high-rise buildings like thunder rolling in over the plains. Julian froze in the middle of the room, turning toward the window as a bright, blinding white beam of light cut through the dark. A massive black tactical helicopter hovered directly outside the glass window, suspended in the air just fifty feet away from the building. The searchlight washed over the living room, illuminating Julian's terrified face and throwing heavy shadows against the pristine white walls. Police sirens blared from the streets far below, their red and blue lights flashing against the surrounding glass skyscrapers in rhythm. Julian stumbled back, throwing his arm over his eyes to block the intensely bright beam of light cutting through his dark sanctuary. Through the roar of the rotating helicopter blades, the sound of breaking glass echoed from the private rooftop access doors above. SWAT operatives clad in black tactical gear rapidly rappelled down ropes attached to the helicopter frame, landing heavily on the balcony. The heavy glass patio doors shattered inward as tactical boots kicked through the reinforced frames with practiced, powerful precision. Tactical lasers flashed across the living room ceiling, pinpointing Julian as he dropped his whip and raised his hands in absolute terror. Armed officers spilled into the room, shouting clear commands for Julian to get down on his knees and lock his hands behind his head. Julian collapsed onto the floor without offering a single word of resistance, sobbing pathetically as heavy boots pinned his arms down. Among the tactical officers stepped Arthur Sterling, wearing a dark trench coat, his face set like carved granite as he scanned the room. Arthur ignored the shouting officers and walked straight past the cowering Julian, his eyes focused entirely on his injured, bound daughter. He dropped to his knees beside Amber, pulling a tactical knife from his belt to slice through the tight ropes binding her wrists. Amber collapsed into her father's strong arms, burying her face in his shoulder as the heavy tension finally broke into real tears.
