Arthur: Security! Where is estate security?! Arrest this woman and my son immediately!
Four tall security guards in black suits stepped out from the side archways, but instead of moving toward Julian, they formed a line in front of the altar, blocking Arthur from stepping any closer.
Julian: Security works for the primary trustee, Father. And as of ten minutes ago, that is me.
Arthur: This is a corporate coup! This is illegal document fraud!
Julian: It is not fraud, Father. It is a legally binding contract signed under your own free hand, witnessed by your private secretary and notary public.
Arthur turned around frantically in the center aisle, looking at the board members who were shaking their heads in disgust, then glaring down at me in my front-row seat.
Arthur: Clara! Clara, do something! You are my wife! Call our private legal team right now!
Clara: I am not calling anyone, Arthur.
Arthur: Clara, I am your husband! Your entire lifestyle and prenuptial allowance depend on my estate!
Clara: My prenuptial agreement was based on the idea that I was married to an honorable man, Arthur. Not a man who kisses his stepdaughter-to-be in a private study during a family wedding.
Arthur: She seduced me! She trapped me! I was under emotional stress!
Clara: You were not under stress, Arthur. You were greedy and arrogant, just like you have been for thirty years.
Julian walked down the steps of the altar, stepping straight up to Arthur in his grey suit, holding a sleek black tablet in his hand.
Julian: Press play on the video, Victoria.
Victoria pulled a small remote control from her dress pocket and pressed a button. The large digital presentation screen mounted above the grand American flag flickered to life, filling the ballroom with high-definition video and crystal-clear audio recorded from the study twenty minutes earlier.
On the screen, Arthur could be seen pulling Victoria into his arms, kissing her passionately, and laughing as he signed his signature across the brown leather binder.
"Sign right here, Arthur darling," Victoria's voice echoed through the speakers. "And once Julian is out of the picture, the entire New York estate is ours."
"Julian is a fool," Arthur's recorded voice boomed across the room. "He thinks he is inheriting this company. I will give him ten percent and keep the rest for us."
The two hundred high-society guests broke into outraged shouting. Board members stepped back away from Arthur, pointing their fingers at his pale, sweating face.
Board Member Miller: Disgraceful! Absolutely disgraceful, Arthur!
Board Member Davis: You tried to disinherit your own son while sleeping with his bride?! We vote to remove you from the board immediately!
Arthur slumped into a gold chair, his hands covering his face as he let out a choked, broken sob. His thirty-year empire had crumbled into dust in front of the entire city elite.
