Vivian: Kidnapping?! She had access to the garden! She was cleaning the main hall every day!
Detective Miller: Under armed guard with locked doors, according to the security camera feeds we seized from your private cloud server two hours ago.
Vivian: My cloud server...? You hacked my private accounts?!
Julian: I own the estate's network infrastructure, Vivian. Every single camera you installed to watch Elena was streaming directly to my legal security backup in London.
Vivian backed up until her spine hit the white plaster wall of the staircase. She looked frantically around the grand hall, but the four officers were already moving up the steps toward her, pulling heavy steel handcuffs from their utility belts.
Vivian: Get away from me! Don't touch my gown! Julian, tell them to stop! We can work out a settlement! I'll give up the preferred stock!
Julian: You don't have anything left to bargain with, Vivian. The court has already issued a temporary restraining order, and your personal assets are frozen under the RICO asset seizure act.
Vivian: RICO?! You're using organized crime laws against your own family?!
Julian: You aren't my family. You're a criminal who abused my wife.
The lead officer grabbed Vivian's manicured wrists, pulling them firmly behind her back. The loud, metallic click of the handcuffs echoed sharply off the high marble walls of the grand hall.
Vivian: Ahhh! You're hurting my hands! I have arthritis! This is police brutality!
Officer 1: Keep your feet moving, ma'am. Step down the stairs carefully.
Vivian: Julian! Look at me! I raised you! After your mother died, I took care of this house!
Julian: You took care of your bank account. And now you're going to see what happens when the money runs out.
The officers escorted Vivian down the grand white staircase, past the shattered glass and spilled red wine on the marble landing. Her heels dragged against the stone as she thrashed against the officers' grip, her burgundy dress caught on the banister.
Vivian: You'll regret this, Julian! My lawyers will have me out on bail by sunset! I'll sue you for defamation! I'll ruin Vance Global!
Detective Miller: There is no bail for a capital felony kidnapping charge in this state, Mrs. Vance. You'll be staying in county lockup until your preliminary trial next month.
The heavy front oak doors swung open, and two paramedics rushed into the mansion carrying a foldable gurney and a medical trauma kit.
Paramedic 1: Mr. Vance? We have the ambulance ready right outside. Let's get your wife loaded and checked for internal dehydration.
Julian: Thank you. Please, be gentle with her arm... her wrists are severely bruised.
Elena: Julian... don't leave me... please don't let them take me away from you again...
Julian: I'm coming right beside you in the ambulance, baby. I'm never leaving your side again.
