The giant dog looked at Julian and then turned its head toward Clara.
Its heavy claws clicked rhythmically against the polished marble floor.
Julian raised his chin with a triumphant smile on his face.
He had trained Titan himself to obey strict vocal commands without hesitation.
He expected the dog to bark loudly and force Clara to retreat upstairs.
Instead, Titan walked over slowly with his head lowered in a calm manner.
The dog stopped right next to Clara's velvet chair.
It let out a soft sigh and gently rested its heavy head on her lap.
Clara reached down with a soft smile and began stroking the dog behind its ears.
Titan sank down entirely and lay peacefully right across her white heels.
The whole hallway fell into a tense, ringing silence.
The three security guards looked at each other in awkward confusion.
Clara: Well... That seems pretty clear.
Julian stood completely frozen in disbelief as his cheeks flushed red with anger.
He took a quick step forward with his fists clenched tightly at his sides.
Julian: What did you do to my dog?
Clara: I took care of him while you were away spending money in Paris.
Julian: He is trained to respond only to my direct voice commands!
Clara: Dogs remember who feeds them and who stays by their side when they are sick.
Julian stepped closer and pointed a finger directly at Clara's face.
Julian: Get up right now or my guards will physically remove your belongings.
Clara: Touch one item in this house and you will violate a court order.
Julian paused for a moment as his mind raced to analyze her words.
He pulled out his cell phone and dialed his high-powered corporate lawyer.
Julian: David, why is this girl talking about a court order?
He put the call on speaker so Clara could hear every word.
David: Julian, did she serve you with the temporary injunction papers yet?
Julian: What injunction are you talking about?
David: Arthur updated his living trust six months before his heart failed.
Julian's eyes widened as he stared at the phone in his hand.
Julian: He was sick and not in his right mind when he did that!
David: The law firm verified his mental competence with two independent doctors.
Clara gently patted Titan's back as the dog stayed firmly placed over her feet.
Clara: Your father knew you would try to sweep in and sell the estate.
Julian: He owed me this property after cutting me off five years ago!
Clara: He owed you nothing after you tried to sell his private business details.
