Words Behind Sealed Doors

His Bride Kept The Secret Skeleton Key Hidden Away

Hannah stepped back slowly while clutching her long lace wedding dress against her chest.

Her eyes filled with sudden tears under the strong light of the morning sun.

She tried to speak but the words seemed caught inside her tight dry throat.

Lucas kept his eyes cold as he held the silver key higher up.

Lucas: Why was this key inside your wedding purse, Hannah?

Hannah: Lucas, please let me explain what happened this morning!

Lucas: You told me you never touched my mother's old private things!

Hannah: I was only trying to protect our future from her sister!

Lucas: My aunt has nothing to do with my mother's legal box!

Hannah: She is the one who put that key in my bag!

Lucas shook his head because he could not believe her strange sudden story.

His aunt Margarethe had managed the large estate money since his mother passed away.

Margarethe was a very strict woman who protected the family trust with great care.

She had never liked Hannah from the very first day they met at dinner.

Margarethe always claimed that Hannah only cared about the family money and estate.

Now finding the key near Hannah made Lucas question everything he ever believed in.

He turned back toward the large white wooden doors at the hallway end.

The trunk inside that room held the final revised version of his mother's will.

If the box was opened early, the entire family inheritance could change completely today.

Lucas put the silver key slowly into the bright lock of the door.

Hannah ran forward and grabbed his arm again with both of her hands.

Hannah: If you open that door, she will win everything we built!

Lucas: The truth is inside this room, and I am opening it!

Hannah: She wrote a fake letter to ruin my name forever!

Lucas: Then why are you so afraid of what is inside here?

Hannah lowered her head while soft tears began falling down her clean cheeks.

She knew that stepping into that room would change their lives forever now.

The sound of high heels echoed from the other side of the hallway.

Aunt Margarethe walked into the bright daylight holding a small black leather folder.

She smiled coldly as she saw Lucas standing right at the closed entrance.

Margarethe stopped beside the white wall near the large national flag display.

She adjusted her silver glasses before looking down at the crying bride standing there.

Margarethe: I told you she was after the inheritance money, Lucas.

Hannah: You set me up because you stole from the trust fund!

Margarethe: Be careful with your words before my lawyer arrives today!

Lucas looked from his aunt to his bride while holding the metal key.

He felt completely trapped between the two women he knew his whole life.

He turned the key sharply inside the lock until a loud click echoed.
