The Boardroom Showdown

Board Member 1: This is a disaster for company stock! The media is having a field day with Victoria's arrest!

Board Member 2: We need to appoint an interim CEO immediately before the market opens tomorrow, or the investors will liquidate their holdings!

Two weeks later, the corporate boardroom at Vance Global Enterprises was in total chaos[cite: 1]. Ten high-profile board members sat around the massive glass table, shouting over each other as news broadcasts showed Victoria's mugshot on the television screens mounted on the wall.

Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the boardroom opened.

Clara walked into the room, holding her head high. She was wearing a tailored navy blue business suit. Behind her walked Mark, carrying two large leather binders filled with court orders.

Board Member 1: Clara? What are you doing here? This is an emergency board meeting for executive shareholders only!

Clara: I know exactly what kind of meeting this is. And as the majority shareholder owning seventy percent of Vance Global Enterprises, I am officially calling this meeting to order.

Board Member 2: Majority shareholder? Victoria was the trustee!

Mark: Victoria is currently facing ten years in state prison for attempted murder, fraud, and grand larceny. The probate court officially revoked her trustee status yesterday afternoon.

Mark stepped forward and tossed copies of the official court injunction onto the center of the glass table.

Mark: This is a certified court order signed by Judge Henderson. All voting rights, executive powers, and trust distribution authorities have been restored entirely to Clara Vance.

The room went dead silent. The board members exchanged nervous looks, quickly picking up the documents and reading through the legal seals.

Board Member 1: Clara... we had no idea Victoria was capable of such a heinous crime. We were misled by her lies!

Clara: You turned a blind eye because she promised you higher dividends, even when you knew my father's health was deteriorating under mysterious circumstances.

Board Member 2: What are you planning to do now, Clara?

Clara: Effective immediately, I am firing the executive committee. Every single one of you who signed off on Victoria's fraudulent trust transfer without proper audit is removed from your positions.

Board Member 1: You can't just fire the entire executive committee! The company will collapse!

Clara: Watch me. I am bringing in a brand new independent audit team tomorrow morning. Anyone who cooperated with Victoria will face civil lawsuits for breach of fiduciary duty.

Mark: Security is waiting in the lobby to escort you all out of the building. Please hand over your access badges now.

One by one, the defeated board members unclipped their security badges and placed them on the table before walking out of the boardroom in shame.

Clara walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the city skyline, taking a deep breath of clean air. Her smartphone buzzed on the table. It was a notification from the hospital NICU, showing a video update of her newborn son sleeping peacefully in his incubator.

Mark: You did it, Clara. Your father would be so proud of you.

Clara: My father worked his whole life to build something honest. Victoria tried to destroy us, but she failed.
