Diego paused for a brief second as he heard the high-pitched chime sound.
He looked over his shoulder toward the main wall-mounted outdoor television screen monitor.
The outdoor screen suddenly flickered bright red before displaying a high-definition video grid.
Four distinct camera angles of the pool area appeared clearly on the display screen.
Diego: What the hell is that television screen doing right now?
Evelyn: Is the smart home system glitching because of the wet hose spray?
Sarah: That is not a system glitch, Evelyn, that is my father's system.
A flashing red emergency notification light illuminated the perimeter of the screen interface.
A loud sub-bass tone pulsed through the high-powered surround sound outdoor speaker system.
Diego dropped his arm slightly as the harsh water stream fell onto the patio floor.
His heart skipped a beat as a powerful voice boomed through the speakers.
Automated Voice: Emergency protocol initiated by master estate administrator Arthur Vance immediately.
Diego: Turn that damn speaker system off right now, Evelyn, find the switch!
Evelyn: I do not know where the control box is hidden in this mansion!
The screen zoomed in instantly on Diego's shocked face displayed in real-time clarity.
The audio system crackled slightly before a deep familiar voice filled the air.
Arthur: You have sixty seconds to turn off that water and step away!
Diego's mouth dropped open in absolute terror as he recognized his father-in-law's voice.
Diego: Arthur? How are you tapping into the private estate security feed right now?
Arthur: I built this estate and every security system inside it thirty years ago!
Sarah: I told you my father never leaves me unprotected, Diego.
Arthur: Bring my daughter inside right now or face immediate legal and physical consequences!
Diego scrambled back toward the pool valve and shut the water water off completely.
The harsh spraying noise stopped instantly leaving a sudden heavy silence over the lawn.
Evelyn backed away from Sarah with her hands trembling near her silk blouse.
The entire illusion of control vanished from Diego's face in one short second.
Diego: Arthur, this is just a minor misunderstanding between Sarah and myself!
Arthur: Misunderstanding? I have been recording every single word you said today!
Diego: I was just trying to discuss our family financial papers with her!
Arthur: You threatened my daughter and tried to extort her private legal estate!
