Stripped of Power

Vivian: Human trafficking? Are you insane? She had a room! She had food!

Helena: You locked the basement door from the outside every night, Vivian! You gave me one bowl of cold soup a day and forced me to clean sixteen rooms!

Ethan: You locked her in the basement?

Ethan's voice dropped to a deadly whisper, his eyes burning with a rage that made Vivian back up two steps on the staircase.

Vivian: She... she was unstable! She was crying all day, threatening to destroy your personal belongings!

Helena: I was crying because I was grieving my husband! And you threw all of Ethan's military medals into the furnace right in front of me!

Ethan: My medals? The ones our father gave me before he passed?

Vivian: They were useless brass! You were gone, Ethan! We had to clear out your office to make room for Marcus's new executive suite!

Ethan: Marcus moved into my office?

Vivian: He is taking over as CEO next week! The board already voted! You've been gone for six months, Ethan, you have no authority here anymore!

Ethan: The board meeting isn't finalized until the trust papers are signed by the primary heir. Which you couldn't do without my physical signature or Helena's stolen consent.

Vivian's face went completely pale, realizing her brother knew every detail of the corporate bylaws better than she did.

Vivian: Ethan... please. We're brother and sister. Don't let this girl come between our family.

Ethan: Helena is my family, Vivian. You ceased being my sister the moment you treated my wife like a slave in my own home.

Vivian: What are you going to do? Throw me out on the street? I built this family's social status!

Ethan: You didn't build anything. You spent my money on designer dresses, luxury vacations, and red wine while my wife bled on your marble floors.

The sound of heavy sirens echoed outside the mansion gates, red and blue lights flashing through the tall glass windows of the foyer.

Vivian: Who... who called the police?

Ethan: I did. Ten minutes before I stepped through that front door. My military intelligence team tracked the fraudulent transactions from my estate three days ago.
