Brandon reached out his shaking hands to touch Tiffany's arm, but she slapped his hands away in front of the watching crowd. People in the lobby pulled out their smartphones, recording the entire incident as Brandon tried to explain himself.
Brandon: Tiffany, babe, listen to me! I was going to tell you the truth once I got promoted next spring!
Tiffany: Promoted?! You lied to me about your salary, your family background, your car, everything!
Victoria: Speaking of the car, I noticed our hotel's luxury shuttle service vehicle was missing from the executive parking bay this afternoon. Did you borrow the company Maybach as well, Brandon?
Brandon swallowed hard, unable to look up as more guests gathered around the lobby lounge.
Brandon: I... I just needed it to pick Tiffany up from her salon... she thought it was my personal vehicle...
Victoria: You stole a quarter-million-dollar company asset to play big shot for an afternoon?
Tiffany: You told me that Maybach was your birthday gift from the board of directors!
Victoria: The board of directors does not even know his last name, miss. But by the end of today, the legal department certainly will.
Tiffany: This has to be a nightmare. This cannot be happening to me right now!
Victoria: You seemed quite confident a moment ago when you were throwing expensive champagne at my clothes and threatening to have me thrown out.
Tiffany: I... I didn't know who you were! You were wearing a plain coat! You looked like a regular person!
Victoria: So you only treat people with basic human decency if you think they have enough money to destroy you?
Tiffany: No! That is not what I meant at all!
Victoria: That is exactly what you meant. You wear a US flag brooch to look proper, but you treat service staff and ordinary visitors like trash beneath your feet.
Brandon: Miss Sterling, please! Don't involve the police! I will pay for the cleaning of your coat! I will pay for the penthouse stay out of my savings!
Victoria: Your savings? On a junior floor manager salary, it would take you three years of back-breaking work to cover the weekend fees for that penthouse, Brandon.
Tiffany: What about my ring?! He bought me a two-carat diamond ring! He said it was a family heirloom passed down through the Sterling estate!
Victoria leaned in closer, staring intently at the glittering ring on Tiffany's left hand with sharp eyes.
Victoria: That ring looks remarkably familiar. Brandon, isn't that the platinum diamond band logged into the hotel lost-and-found vault six weeks ago by a guest from Dallas?
Brandon: No! No, I bought that at a jeweler downtown!
Victoria: The lost-and-found vault that you held the master key code for as junior lobby manager?
Tiffany: What?! You gave me a stolen ring from a lost guest's bag?!
