The Secret Found On Balcony

He Caught His Nanny In A Lie That Saved Everything

Lily walked softly on her tiptoes toward the master bedroom at the end of the long hall.

The door stood slightly open, revealing Victoria standing near the heavy mahogany desk.

Victoria was opening drawers quickly and scanning through stacks of signed financial papers.

Lily gasped softly when she saw Victoria hold up a velvet box containing her mother's gold necklace.

That heirloom locket contained the last family photo taken before her mother fell ill.

Lily: Put that back, Victoria! That belongs to my mother!

Victoria spun around quickly, slamming the wooden desk drawer with a sharp thud.

Her face twisted into a sharp look of annoyance as she marched toward the doorway.

Victoria: You should be in your room like I ordered you to be, Lily!

Lily: Give me my mother's locket right now or I am calling my father!

Victoria grabbed Lily by her wrist and pulled her toward the grand balcony railing.

The high balcony overlooked the two-story polished marble foyer far below them.

Victoria snatched the gold locket out of Lily's hand and held it over the edge.

Victoria: If you say one word to your father, this necklace drops right now!

Lily cried out in fear and reached for the dangling golden chain with both hands.

Lily: Please don't drop it, Victoria! That is the only thing I have left!

Victoria leaned over the railing aggressively, crowding the frightened girl against the marble banister.

She pushed Lily roughly against the top rail, making the little girl lose her balance momentarily.

Lily screamed loudly in terror as her feet slipped on the smooth white marble floor.

At that exact moment, the front doors of the mansion swung wide open downstairs.

Richard had returned early because he forgot his primary tablet device for the morning meeting.

He heard his daughter's sharp scream echoing through the massive high-ceilinged entrance hall.

Richard dropped his briefcase onto the floor and looked up toward the second-floor balcony.

He saw Victoria standing over his struggling daughter who was slipping near the tall railing.

Richard: Hey! Get away from my daughter right now!

Richard sprinted across the polished marble foyer like a athlete driven by sudden adrenaline.

Victoria panicked when she saw Richard charging up the double staircase toward the landing.

She backed away from the railing quickly, dropping the gold locket onto the floor.

Lily slipped off her feet from the panic and tumbled toward the hard floor landing.

Richard reached the top landing instantly and slid across the smooth marble on his knees.

He caught Lily safely in his strong arms right before she could strike the floor hard.

He pulled her tightly against his chest, cradling her as she sobbed into his suit jacket.

Lily: Daddy! I was so scared! She was taking Mommy's locket!

Richard: Shh, I have you, baby. You are completely safe now.

Richard's breath came in heavy gasps as he stroked his daughter's soft hair comforting her.

He stood up slowly with Lily safely in his arms and turned toward Victoria.

His face transformed into an expression of intense, quiet rage as he looked at the nanny.

Victoria backed away until her spine pressed against the cold exterior balcony wall.

Victoria: Richard, listen to me, it was completely an accident!

Richard: Do not say another word in this house!
