Reclaiming Control Of The Estate

A Wealthy Woman Forced My Crying Daughter To Scrub Marble Floors

The banquet hall was so quiet that the dripping water sounded like thunder.

Evelyn sat shivering on the dirty marble, her luxurious reputation completely shattered.

She looked around at the guests who were still holding up recording phones.

The very people she had tried to impress were now filming her total defeat.

Older Woman: You can't talk to me like this in my own home!

Clara reached into her inner coat pocket with cool, deliberate precision.

She pulled out a folded set of official legal documents stamped with state seals.

She tossed the heavy papers directly onto the wet floor in front of Evelyn.

Mother: Read the title on line one, Evelyn.

Mother: The foreclosure is complete, and I paid off the entire mortgage today.

Evelyn's hands shook violently as she picked up the wet paper document.

Her eyes scanned the bold black print near the top of the first page.

The property ownership had been transferred entirely to Clara's personal corporation.

The luxury mansion, the surrounding grounds, and the family trust belonged to Clara.

Evelyn did not own a single room in the broad building anymore.

A gasp ran through the wealthy crowd as the truth finally registered with everyone.

The woman they had looked down upon was actually the owner of everything.

Mother: You have ten minutes to collect your personal things and leave.

Clara turned her back on the broken older woman without another word.

She walked over to the corner of the room where two security guards stood.

Mother: Escort her to the front gate once she grabs her clothes.

Security Guard: Yes, ma'am, right away.

The guards moved forward promptly, taking their positions on either side of Evelyn.

Evelyn tried to stand, her wet satin dress sticking uncomfortably to her legs.

She looked around at her high-society friends, but everyone looked away quickly.

Nobody offered a hand to help her up from the ruined floor.

She had built her entire social life on cruelty and cheap status games.

Now that her wealth was gone, she had no real friends left standing.

Clara walked back to Lily and bent down to pick up her small daughter.

She lifted the wet child into her arms, holding her close against her heart.

Lily wrapped her small arms around Clara's neck, resting her head softly.

Lily: Are we staying here, Mommy?

Mother: Yes, baby, this is our home now, and no one will hurt you again.
