David kept his son pressed firmly against his chest as he spoke.
The emergency operator asked for the exact mansion address on the hill.
David gave the address clearly while staring up at the empty balcony.
Evelyn hurried down the grand staircase with her face pale and white.
She tried to regain her composure as she reached the bottom step.
Evelyn: David, hang up that phone right now!
David: Stay away from us, Evelyn.
Evelyn: It was an terrible accident, he tripped on his own shoes!
Leo: No, you pushed me hard, Grandma!
David pointed a finger directly at his mother's shaking frame.
David: You tried to get rid of him to save your precious trust fund.
Evelyn: I would never do such a terrible thing in my own home!
The estate attorney walked out of the study after hearing the shouting.
He looked at David holding the crying boy on the polished floor.
He saw the sheer panic written across Evelyn's pale face nearby.
Attorney: What on earth happened out here, David?
David: My mother shoved my son off the second-floor balcony railing.
Attorney: That is a serious criminal accusation, David.
Evelyn: He is lying because he wants full control of the estate!
David pointed up toward the decorative ceiling molding near the balcony overhang.
A small black security camera was mounted near the central light fixture.
The lens was pointed directly toward the terrace area high above.
David knew his late father had installed high-definition security cameras everywhere.
Evelyn froze as she looked up at the blinking red camera light.
She had completely forgotten about the newly upgraded security system installed last month.
David looked at the estate attorney with cold determination in his eyes.
David: Access the feed on your tablet right now, Arthur.
Evelyn: Arthur, you work for me, do not open that app!
Attorney: I work for the entire estate estate, Mrs. Vance.
The attorney pulled out his tablet and tapped the security application.
Evelyn took a slow step backward toward the massive front door.
Her face lost all remaining color as the recording loaded on screen.
