Elena walked quietly into the bright office while holding a clean baby bottle.
She looked nervous because she thought she might be in trouble for speaking up.
Ethan: Please sit down, Elena, you are not in trouble at all.
Elena: Is little baby Sophia doing okay up in her nursery room, sir?
Ethan: She is sleeping peacefully thanks to your brave actions yesterday afternoon.
Elena: I only did what any decent human being would do, Mr. Ethan.
Ethan: You saved my daughter's life while her own mother tried to harm her.
Ethan pulled a thick legal document out of his dark brown leather drawer.
He wrote a massive check and handed it straight across the wooden desk to her.
Elena looked at the numbers written on the white paper and gasped out loud.
The check was made out to her name for two hundred thousand dollars.
Elena: Sir, I cannot accept this vast amount of money from you!
Ethan: You saved my whole world, so you deserve far more than this.
Elena: I was just doing my job to protect the child.
Ethan: From today on, you are no longer a maid in this home.
Elena wiped a fresh tear from her soft cheek and looked at him in confusion.
Ethan: I want to hire you as Sophia's full-time head nanny today.
Elena: Are you completely sure about making this decision, Mr. Ethan?
Ethan: I trust you completely with the safety of my entire family now.
Elena smiled brightly through her tears and nodded her head with genuine gratitude.
She had worked hard her whole life just to send money to her sick mother.
This money meant that her family would never suffer in dark poverty again.
Ethan felt a sense of real peace return to his large quiet home.
He knew that good people deserved to be rewarded for their honest actions.
However, he still had to face Victoria one last time in the city courtroom.
