Victoria grabbed the handles of Lily's wheelchair with tight hands.
She pushed the wheelchair fast down the long marble hallway.
Lily held onto the armrests tightly as her heart pounded fast.
Lily: Victoria, please slow down! You are scaring me!
Victoria: You need to learn how to obey me!
Lily: I didn't do anything wrong today!
Victoria: You told your father about the trust fund papers yesterday!
Lily: He asked me if I signed anything, so I answered!
Victoria pushed open the grand bathroom door and wheeled Lily inside.
The bathroom was large, with cold white tile and marble counters.
Victoria turned on the shower head inside the glass enclosure.
She turned the handle all the way to the cold side.
Ice cold water sprayed heavily out of the silver fixture.
Victoria pulled the wheelchair right under the streaming water nozzle.
The freezing water hit Lily directly across her face and head.
Lily gasped loudly and tried to block the stream with hands.
Lily: Please stop! It's too cold!
Victoria: Listen to me right now! You are hurting me!
Lily: I didn't hurt you! Please turn it off!
Victoria: You are ruining my chance at that inheritance!
The shower water streamed down the crying girl's freckled face.
She opened her mouth wide in distress, weeping hysterically under water.
Victoria leaned in aggressively close to the young girl's face.
Her face looked fierce and full of anger in the reflection.
Victoria: Do as you are told from now on!
Lily: Please, Victoria! I can't breathe!
Outside in the hallway, Elena heard the sudden shouting and water.
She ran toward the master bathroom as fast as she could.
She saw the bathroom door slightly open and pushed inside fast.
Elena gasped when she saw Lily soaked under the freezing stream.
Elena: Let go of her! Stop this!
Victoria: Mind your own business, Elena!
Elena: She is a helpless child! You cannot do this!
Elena rushed forward to grab the handles of the wheelchair.
She pulled with all her strength to drag Lily backward out.
Victoria held onto the frame tightly and refused to let go.
Victoria: Get your hands off my stepdaughter right now!
Elena: I will call the police if you don't stop!
Victoria: You are just a maid! Nobody will believe you!
Lily wept bitterly as the cold water soaked her pink clothes.
Elena dropped to her knees beside the wheelchair in desperation.
She wrapped her arms around Lily to shield her from water.
Elena: Hold on, my sweet child. I am here now.
Lily: Elena, it hurts! It's so cold!
Victoria leaned in again with a vicious expression on her face.
Victoria: If either of you says a word, you both leave!
Elena pulled out her phone hidden inside her apron pocket quickly.
She tapped Mark's speed dial button without Victoria noticing at all.
The call connected as Mark was still driving down the highway.
