The Arrival of the Father

A Rich Woman Harms a Child and Regrets It

Victoria stared at Clara with wide, terrified eyes, completely stunned by the sharp retaliation.

"You touched me! You actually slapped me!" Victoria shrieked, her voice turning high and hysterical.

"I stopped you from hurting a helpless child!" Clara shouted back without backing down an inch.

She pulled young Leo even closer against her side, keeping herself between him and Victoria.

Leo clung tightly to Clara's apron, his small shoulders shaking with quiet tears.

Before Victoria could step forward again, the grand front double doors burst wide open.

The heavy oak doors slammed against the wall beneath the prominent framed American flag.

Arthur Williamson stepped into the grand foyer wearing a finely tailored charcoal-black suit.

Two uniformed police officers walked close behind him, having just arrived at the estate.

Arthur stopped dead in his tracks as he saw the chaotic scene unfolding before him.

His eyes swept from his crying son to the fierce waitress, then to his fiancée's red cheek.

"What is going on in my house right now?!" Arthur demanded in a deep, booming voice.

Victoria instantly changed her expression, twisting her face into a dramatic look of suffering.

She rushed down the remaining steps, throwing her arms around Arthur's arm in a hurry.

"Arthur, thank God you are home!" Victoria wailed loudly, fake tears springing to her eyes.

"This crazy waitress attacked me for no reason at all!" Victoria cried out desperately.

"She dragged your son down the stairs and then physically assaulted me when I tried to help!"

The gathered guests whispered nervously among themselves, unsure of who to believe in the moment.

Arthur turned his stern gaze toward Clara, his eyes cold and dark with growing fury.

"Is this true?" Arthur asked, stepping closer to Clara and his crying young son.

Clara held her head high, refusing to show any fear despite the powerful man's presence.

"No, sir, that is a complete and dangerous lie," Clara answered with steady courage.

Leo reached out his trembling hand from behind Clara, pointing directly at the blue gown.

"Daddy, she pushed me!" Leo sobbed out loud, his voice filling the quiet foyer.

"She told me I didn't belong here and shoved me down the marble steps!"

Victoria's face turned pale as the child spoke the absolute truth in front of everyone.
