The Maid At The Manor

A Rich Bride Lost Everything After Hiding His Child

Clara adjusted the collar of her black dress as she walked into the grand Dallas home.

She was twenty-four years old and desperately needed this job to pay her monthly rent.

The mansion had white marble floors and expensive American flag artwork hanging on every wall.

It belonged to Richard Vance, a young billionaire who ran a large family real estate business.

Richard was getting married in three days to a socialite named Victoria.

Victoria was loud, proud, and spent money like it was water from a running faucet.

Clara kept her head down and held her cleaning supplies tightly in both hands.

She was hired to clean the dining room before the grand rehearsal dinner started tonight.

Five years ago, Clara had lost her own daughter right after giving birth at a small clinic.

The clinic told her the baby did not survive, leaving Clara completely heartbroken for years.

She never stopped thinking about her sweet baby girl and prayed every single night.

As Clara dusted the long polished mahogany table, she heard small footsteps on the marble.

A little four-year-old girl in a cream dress ran straight toward Clara with open arms.

The girl wrapped her tiny hands around Clara's waist and buried her wet face into her apron.

Child: Mommy! Mommy, I found you!

Clara froze on the spot and felt her heart beat wildly against her ribcage.

She slowly dropped her feather duster onto the shiny floor and looked down at the girl.

The child had the same light freckles across her nose that Clara saw in the mirror daily.

Maid: No, sweetheart, I am not your mother.

Child: Yes you are! I see your picture in my heart!

Clara knelt on the cold marble floor and held the little girl's soft shoulders gently.

Tears filled Clara's eyes as an unexplainable feeling washed over her entire body.

Suddenly, heavy designer heels clicked loudly across the hallway toward the grand dining room.

Victoria stepped into the room wearing a sharp white suit with diamond buttons.

Her face turned pale, then filled with pure anger when she saw Clara touching the child.

Bride: Get away from her, you impostor!

Victoria rushed forward with her expensive leather bag raised up in the air.

She grabbed Clara roughly by her hair and pulled her away from the little girl.

Clara screamed as she lost her balance and fell back onto the hard white floor.

The little child shrieked in fear and dropped to her knees beside Clara to shield her.

Child: Stop hurting her! Do not touch her!

Bride: Shut up, Lily, and get over here right now!

Victoria reached out to snatch the child away, but a strong voice shouted from the doorway.
