The Wedding Day Trap

A Pregnant Bride Is Framed Before Her Father Arrives

The grand foyer of the Dallas estate sparkled under the midday sunlight.

Vivian smoothed the front of her soft blue dress with careful hands.

She was six months pregnant and feeling every bit of the summer heat.

Her husband Marcus stood nearby, talking to several wealthy business investors.

This afternoon was supposed to be a joyous family celebration before the main wedding gala next week.

Instead, a strange coldness hung heavy in the air of the marble hallway.

Vivian adjusted the delicate silk fabric over her belly and took a deep breath.

She noticed her mother-in-law Evelyn standing by the white marble staircase.

Evelyn had never hidden her strong dislike for Vivian from the very beginning.

She believed Vivian was a simple middle-class girl after Marcus for his family inheritance.

Marcus was set to take over his family's multi-million dollar real estate trust fund.

Evelyn raised her golden champagne glass and stared directly across the room at Vivian.

Vivian turned away, trying to focus on her unborn child and stay calm.

Suddenly, the bride-to-be, Clara, let out a loud and dramatic scream.

Guests stopped talking immediately and turned their heads toward the grand entrance.

Clara was crying hysterically, clutching her expensive white dress near her chest.

"My heirloom diamond ring is gone!" Clara shrieked loudly.

Evelyn rushed to Clara's side instantly with an overly protective look.

"Someone in this room stole a family treasure!" Evelyn shouted to the crowd.

Marcus stepped forward quickly, looking confused and stressed by the scene.

"Calm down, everyone," Marcus said, holding his hands up to quiet the room.

"It had to be her," Clara cried out, pointing her finger right at Vivian.

Vivian gasped in utter disbelief as every eye turned toward her.

"I didn't touch your ring, Clara," Vivian said softly, stepping backward.

"Search her clutch purse right now!" Evelyn commanded in a harsh voice.

Vivian looked at her husband, expecting him to defend her immediately.

Marcus hesitated, glancing nervously at the wealthy guests surrounding them.

"Just let them search it, Vivian," Marcus said in a quiet tone.

"Clear your name so we can get past this scene," he added softly.

Vivian felt her heart shatter into a thousand painful pieces right there.

Her own husband was asking her to prove her innocence to cruel people.
