The garden was completely silent as the full truth hung in the summer heat.
Margaret looked around the yard, realizing her carefully constructed plan was completely ruined.
Her face was pale and her hands trembled as she realized the consequences.
David: We are leaving right now, Mom, and we are not coming back.
Margaret: David, please don't do this over a simple misunderstanding between us!
David: This is not a misunderstanding. This is cruel and calculating behavior.
Emily: I am calling our lawyer the moment we get into the car.
Margaret: You will destroy this family if you walk away from this estate!
David: You destroyed it the moment you tried to hurt my wife and child.
Emily carried Lily straight to the front driveway without looking back once.
David followed right behind her, carrying their overnight bags to the trunk area.
They placed Lily securely in her car seat in the back of the SUV.
Margaret stood near the grand entrance of the mansion, watching them load up.
She looked small and isolated against the massive backdrop of her empty home.
David slammed the trunk shut and walked around to the driver's side door.
He looked at his mother one final time before getting inside the vehicle.
He started the engine, shifted into drive, and pulled slowly down the driveway.
