Sarah walked downstairs with her phone held firmly in her right hand like a shield.
Mark and Evelyn were sitting together at the kitchen island, whispering in hushed tones.
They stopped talking immediately when they heard Sarah's footsteps coming down the hallway floor.
Mark tried to put on a calm and rational smile, but his eyes were tense.
Mark: Did you calm down upstairs, Sarah? We can talk like rational adults now.
Sarah: I do not need to calm down, Mark, because I know everything now.
Evelyn: Do not start raising your voice in this house again, young lady.
Sarah: Take a look at this video screen before you say another single word.
Sarah hit the play button on her smartphone and held it directly in front of Mark's face.
The footage clearly showed Evelyn staging the entire painful scene while filming on her tablet.
Mark's face turned completely white as he watched the clear high definition video play out.
His jaw dropped open in shock as he realized their secret scheme had been exposed.
Sarah: Grandma makes fake videos so Ryan gets custody and you get Lily's trust fund!
Evelyn: That is impossible! Where did you get that footage from right now?
Sarah: From the camera I installed on the roof three weeks ago, Evelyn.
Mark: Sarah, please listen to me, it is not what it looks like at all!
Sarah: You planned to ruin my life and take my daughter for money!
Evelyn stood up from her chair, her eyes wide with sudden terror and humiliation.
She reached out her hand to grab the phone, but Sarah pulled it back easily.
Evelyn: Give me that phone right now! You have no right to film me!
Sarah: This video is already sent to my attorney and the local police station.
Mark grabbed his hair with both hands as panic completely overtook his calm demeanor.
He realized that his legal career and his family's reputation were about to be ruined.
The scheme they built to steal the estate had completely backfired on them both.
Sarah stood tall and proud in the center of the brightly lit kitchen room.
She was ready to fight for her daughter's future with everything she possessed.
