Dr. Evans fell to his knees on the cold white marble floor in fear.
Dr. Evans: It was not my idea I swear it!
Captain Miller: Handcuff this man immediately and search his briefcase.
An officer grabbed the briefcase and opened the heavy brass lock.
Inside were several small glass vials containing the same white pills.
There was also a thick stack of bank transfer documents tucked away inside.
Captain Miller picked up the financial papers and read them carefully.
Captain Miller: These payments came from an offshore account in the Bahamas.
Arthur: Who owns that account Captain Miller?
The captain turned his eyes slowly toward Richard who backed away nervously.
Captain Miller: The account belongs to Vance Holdings offshore subsidiary.
Arthur: That is the account you managed Richard.
Richard: I can explain everything Arthur please just listen!
Arthur: You poisoned your own brother for control of our estate?
Richard began crying frantically as the police officers moved closer to him.
Richard: You had everything and father left you the entire company!
Richard: I just wanted my fair share of the family fortune!
Arthur: You stole my ability to play with my daughter!
Lily wrapped her small arms around her father arm protectively.
Lily: Do not yell at my Daddy evil man!
The guests watched in horror as Richard was placed into heavy handcuffs.
Dr. Evans was led away toward the police patrol cars parked outside.
Captain Miller placed a gentle hand on Arthur weak shoulder.
Captain Miller: We will find out every detail of this crime Arthur.
Arthur: Will the effects of this toxin fade over time Captain?
The lab technician stepped forward with a reassuring smile on his face.
Technician: Once the drug leaves your system your nerves will recover quickly.
Technician: You should regain full movement within a few weeks sir.
Arthur closed his eyes as tears of relief trickled down his cheeks.
His loss of movement was not permanent after all this time.
He looked down at his daughter who was still holding her washing bowl.
Arthur: You saved my life today my little angel.
Lily: I told you washing your feet would bring a miracle!
The crowd broke into warm applause across the spacious mansion hall.
Arthur pulled Lily into his lap and kissed her forehead tenderly.
Arthur: The truth is finally out thanks to you sweetie.
He knew the road to physical recovery would require hard work now.
But the dark shadow hanging over his home was finally gone forever.
