The local police officers arrived at the Dallas home within ten short minutes.
Two officers carefully examined the damage done to the marble floor in the room.
They collected samples of the strange foaming liquid in secure glass tubes for testing.
Victoria sat on the brown sofa with her arms crossed tightly over her chest.
She kept telling the officers that she was just a loving and innocent wife.
"My stepdaughter has been hostile toward me since the wedding day," Victoria lied smoothly.
Lily sat next to her father, holding his large hand with her tiny fingers.
"I saw her pour a blue bottle into the glass," Lily told the friendly officer.
"She hid the bottle inside her black leather purse near the front door," Lily added.
The lead police officer stood up and walked over to Victoria's black designer handbag.
Victoria jumped up quickly to block the officer from reaching her private bag.
"You cannot search my personal things without a legal warrant!" Victoria shouted loudly.
Mark stepped forward and reminded her that he owned the entire Dallas house.
"I give the officers full permission to search every room and bag," Mark declared.
The officer unzipped the leather bag and reached inside to check the deep pockets.
He pulled out a small glass bottle with a clear toxic warning label on it.
The label clearly matched the chemical compound found burning on the marble floor.
Victoria's face lost all its color as the officer showed the evidence to Mark.
"How could you try to do this to me?" Mark asked with a broken voice.
"I gave you a life of great wealth, love, and security," Mark said softly.
Victoria stopped pretending to be nice and glared at Mark with intense hatred.
"You were never going to give me full control of your money!" Victoria sneered.
"I was tired of waiting for my fair share of the estate," she spat out.
The officers placed iron handcuffs tightly around Victoria's wrists behind her back.
They began walking her out of the grand front entrance toward the police car.
The party guests watched in complete silence as she was led away into custody.
Mark fell back into his chair, feeling completely betrayed by the woman he trusted.
Lily wrapped her small arms tightly around her father's neck to comfort him.
"I will always protect you, Daddy," the sweet little girl whispered softly.
Mark hugged his precious daughter back and cried silent tears onto her shoulder.
He realized that his new marriage was a complete lie built on pure greed.
He vowed to keep his little girl safe from any dark danger in the future.
The legal fight to end the marriage and protect his fortune was just beginning.
