Driven into an intense and justified rage, David stood up straight, his full height intimidating everyone sitting near the front of the dining room table. He removed his hand from his bruised cheek, his dark eyes staring down Sarah with a cold intensity that she had never seen from him before.
He stepped forward quickly, his black tuxedo jacket sweeping behind him as he caught Sarah by the arm before she could run toward the front exit doors. With a swift movement, he grabbed the hidden side zipper of her tight gold dress and pulled it down in front of every single dinner guest.
A soft floral couch pillow tumbled out from beneath the golden fabric, bouncing off the hardwood floor and landing directly at David's shiny leather shoes. The small girl was completely right; a bright yellow pillow printed with red roses lay open on the floor for the entire room to see clearly.
David: GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!
Sarah stumbled back into the side of the dining table, knocking over two crystal wine glasses that shattered loudly into a hundred tiny pieces across the floor. Red wine spilled across the white fabric like blood, matching the intense color of Evelyn's dress as she began to laugh in victorious satisfaction.
Sarah: David, please! Listen to me for one minute! I did this for us! I did this so we wouldn't lose the inheritance to Richard!
David: You lied to me about a child! You made me believe I was going to be a father while you planned to steal my family's legacy!
Evelyn: The prenup is completely void now, David! She committed fraud and physical assault in front of fifteen eyewitnesses!
Sarah dropped to her knees right on top of the shattered glass, her fake tears streaming down her makeup-covered face as she reached out to grab David's pants leg. She looked pathetic and desperate, stripped of all her arrogance and high-society charm in a matter of minutes.
Sarah: I love you, David! The trust fund was going to disappear if we didn't have a baby right away! I was going to adopt a child secretly later!
David: Do not touch me with your dirty hands! You never loved me, you only loved the Miller name and the millions sitting in the bank!
Richard stepped forward from the back of the room, his face a mix of deep anger toward Sarah and sudden triumph regarding his own legal standing in the family. He placed a firm hand on David's shoulder, pulling his brother back from the crying woman who was still begging for mercy on the floor.
Richard: I told you she was no good, brother. I told you she rushed into this marriage the second dad's will was officially read in probate court.
David: I didn't listen to you, Richard. I was so desperate to save the estate that I let a criminal into our home.
Sarah: You can't just throw me out! I am your legal wife! I have rights to this estate under Texas law!
David: You have the right to remain silent when the sheriff arrives at my gate! Get her out of my sight before I lose my temper completely!
Two large security guards who managed the front gate of the estate entered the dining hall through the tall double doors, moving quickly toward the kneeling woman. They grabbed Sarah by her arms, lifting her up off the floor despite her loud screaming and wild kicking against their grip.
The guests watched in complete silence as Sarah was dragged down the main hallway toward the front door, her golden dress ruined and her lies completely exposed to the world. Little Lily sat quietly in her chair, holding her wooden toy and smiling softly because she had solved the strange puzzle that the adults were trying to hide.
