The city police arrived twenty minutes later to take full control of the scene.
David sat in a side office holding a warm cup of water for Lily.
The lead detective reviewed the original legal papers line by line.
The estate documents clearly had the late billionaire's official stamp.
Evelyn sat on a nearby bench, surrounded by two silent officers.
Her expensive red dress looked rumpled and covered in white dust.
Detective: These papers are fully valid and clearly show fraud, Mr. David.
David: She altered the court filings right after my father passed away.
Evelyn: He was not in his right mind when he signed that!
David: He was completely clear, and you knew it perfectly well.
The detective signaled for the officers to escort Evelyn outside.
She tried to speak, but no words came out of her dry throat.
The gallery owner walked over to apologize for the scene.
David waved his hand politely to show he did not blame the gallery staff.
Lily looked up at her father with soft, quiet eyes.
Lily: Daddy, did I do something bad by breaking the vase?
David: No, sweetheart, you saved our family today.
David kissed her forehead gently as the gallery cleared out completely.
The long fight for his father's truth was finally coming to an end.
He felt a heavy weight lift from his shoulders after three hard years.
