The heavy mahogany double doors at the far end of the grand marble hallway suddenly burst open with a booming crash. The sound echoed wildly through the bright luxury hall, causing every head to turn toward the entrance instantly. David Sterling stepped through the doorway wearing an immaculate black suit, his tall frame cutting a powerful figure against the bright natural sunlight. His firm footsteps clicked loudly against the polished floor as he walked down the aisle with absolute authority.
Victoria's eyes lit up with triumph the moment she saw him approaching the main stage under the large American flag. She smoothed down her expensive lace gown and put on a bright, dramatic smile, stepping toward David as if she were the victim of a terrible crime. She pointed her finger down at Clara, who was still weeping silently on the marble floor near the crystal bowl.
Victoria: David, darling! You arrived just in time to see what this wretched maid did!
Victoria: She tried to steal my engagement ring!
David stopped right in front of Victoria, his eyes narrowing in intense, gritting rage as he looked at the scene before him. He did not look at Victoria's fake smile or her pristine white gown; his sharp gaze dropped straight down to the pregnant woman kneeling in distress on the floor. A sharp breath gasped from his chest as his nostrils flared with deep anger, his jaw tightening so hard that the muscles clicked. The room grew completely dead silent, the heavy sub-bass tension filling the air like a storm about to break.
David: What did you just force her to do?
Victoria: I caught her trying to take the family emerald out of the master bedroom, so I made her kneel right where she belongs!
David did not utter another word to Victoria. Instead, he dropped straight down onto his knees on the hard marble floor right beside Clara. He ignored the dust and the cold stone, ignoring his tailored suit pants as he reached into the crystal water bowl without hesitation. His hand plunged into the cool water, his fingers wrapping firmly around the emerald ring sitting at the bottom. He pulled the glistening ring out, letting the water droplets splash onto the floor, and looked softly into Clara's tear-filled eyes.
David: Look at me, Clara. Take a deep breath.
Clara: David... I didn't steal it... I swear...
David: I know you didn't. I know exactly whose ring this is.
David gently took Clara's left hand into his own warm, solid grasp. In front of the entire crowd of shock-stricken guests and a frozen Victoria, David slowly slipped the bright emerald ring back onto Clara's ring finger, right where it had belonged for the last six months. He leaned in close, his voice ringing out clearly across the silent marble hall so every single person could hear every word.
David: This ring... and my heart... belong to my wife.
