Victoria grabbed Eleanor's frail wrist, trying to force the pen into her weak fingers. The legal papers she was holding were for a trust fund revision and a quick change to the family land deed. Victoria wanted to take complete control of the estate before Eleanor's son, Arthur Vance, could arrive from out of town. Victoria knew that if Arthur checked the financial files first, her scheme to steal the family assets would be ruined instantly.
Victoria: Stop fighting me, you foolish old woman! Just sign it!
Eleanor let out a soft, helpless cry as Victoria pulled her arm roughly. The sight made Clara's blood run cold. She had worked in this house for three years and had always stayed quiet, following every rule to keep her job. But seeing a helpless, sick woman being abused in broad daylight broke something inside her. Clara took a deep breath, stepped forward, and grabbed Victoria's arm firmly, pulling her hand away from Eleanor.
Clara: I won't let you! She is helpless!
Victoria froze in absolute shock, slowly turning her head to stare at Clara. Her face turned bright red with pure fury, shocked that a maid in a blue uniform would dare to put a hand on her expensive dress. The room suddenly fell dead silent as the caterers and musicians stopped what they were doing to watch the dramatic confrontation unfolded in the middle of the hall.
Victoria: Let go of me! Do you know who runs this event?
Victoria yanked her arm out of Clara's grip and stepped back, her eyes wide with rage. She slapped her hands against her sides, looking down her nose at Clara as if the maid were nothing more than dirt on her shoe. Clara stood her ground, placing her body directly between Victoria and Eleanor's wheelchair, keeping her chin lifted despite the fear pounding inside her heart.
Clara: I don't care who you are, Miss Victoria. You cannot treat Mrs. Eleanor like this.
Victoria: You are a nobody! A pathetic, low-paid maid! Get out of my face before I make sure you never work in this town again!
Victoria raised her hand threateningly, stepping closer to Clara as if she were about to strike the young woman. Eleanor reached out from her chair, grabbing the back of Clara's uniform with her thin fingers, trembling with fear. The surrounding staff watched in terror, too afraid for their own jobs to step in and help. Victoria smirked, thinking she had won the fight through sheer intimidation and power.
Victoria: Move aside right now, or your career is over today!
Clara stood strong, crossing her arms and refusing to take a single step backward. She looked Victoria straight in the eye, ready to take whatever punishment came her way if it meant protecting the innocent old lady sitting behind her.
