Later that evening, they sat in Clara's comfortable living room.
Warm sunlight filled the room as they shared a meal.
Old family photograph albums lay open across the coffee table.
Alina pointed at pictures and felt her lost memories returning.
Alina: I remember this red dress you wore to graduation.
Clara: You helped me pick it out at the town mall.
Lily: You two look so happy in these old photos!
Alina: We were inseparable when we were young girls, Lily.
Clara unclasped her gold pendant and held it in her palm.
Alina unclasped hers too and laid it beside the other.
The two engraved rose pendants rested together side by side.
The name Rosana glinted brightly under the soft warm light.
Clara: Mother always said these would keep us connected forever.
Alina: And she was right, even after fifteen long years.
Lily: Can I have a necklace like that when I grow up?
Clara: I will have a third one made just for you.
They laughed together as the weight of sorrow finally lifted.
Alina and Lily moved into Clara's spacious suburban home that week.
They started a small family catering business in town together.
The lost sister had finally returned back home where she belonged.
A simple gold pendant had brought two lost lives together again.
