The Reckoning Peak

A Gold Dress Lady Framed Her Maid Until Truth Came Out

Mason turned away from the fireplace mantle and marched straight toward Victoria, his tuxedo coat swinging with his purposeful movement. Victoria cowered slightly, holding up her golden sequin sleeve as if she could hide behind the glittering fabric under the bright midday light.

Victoria: Mason, I can explain! Please, just give me five minutes in private!

Before she could finish her sentence, Mason's hand flew forward with incredible speed. A loud, sharp impact echoed through the grand hall as he forcefully slapped Victoria hard across the face, the sound cutting through the air like a gunshot.

Victoria: Aaaaah!

The force of the blow sent Victoria reeling backward onto the marble floor, her golden dress spreading out around her like fallen autumn leaves. She clutched her red, bruised cheek with both hands, tears streaming down her carefully painted face as she sobbed out loud in utter humiliation.

Victoria: You struck me! You hit me in front of all these people!

Mason: Get off my floor! The wedding is canceled, the engagement is over, and my corporate legal team will be filing a formal lawsuit against you for fraud and defamation before the sun sets today!

Elena stepped forward, her calm demeanor returning as she looked down at the sobbing woman who had tried to destroy her life just ten minutes ago.

Elena: You thought my uniform made me helpless, Victoria. But honesty always stands firmer than stolen gold.

Mason: Elena, I am deeply, deeply sorry for letting her speak to you like that in my home. You will receive a full formal apology, a permanent raise, and a complete promotion to manage our entire household estate starting today.

Elena: Thank you, Mr. Vance. I only ever wanted my truth to be heard.

Victoria pulled herself up onto her knees, looking around the room for any sign of support from her high-society friends. But every single guest turned their backs on her, whispering in disgust as the local security officers walked through the front doors, summoned by the house butler minutes earlier.

Mason: Officers, remove this trespasser from my property immediately. She is no longer welcome in the Vance residence.

Victoria: You cannot do this to me! I am Victoria Sterling! You will pay for this, Mason!

The security officers took Victoria by her upper arms, hoisting her up from the cold floor and escorting her out the front double doors in plain view of every news camera waiting outside for the charity gala.
