The Bride Speaks the Truth

The silence in the ballroom was so heavy that you could hear the soft hum of the air conditioner. Arthur stepped forward, his white tuxedo gleaming under the crystal lights, his eyes burning with intense, furious rage. He pointed a long, steady finger directly at Chloe and roared at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing off the marble floors.

Arthur: Look at the monster standing before us!

Instead of showing shame or breaking down in tears, Chloe snapped. Her sweet, innocent bride persona completely disintegrated in front of the entire Dallas high society. She stepped forward in her massive white gown, her face twisted with bitter hatred, exposing visible red scratches on her own neck from where Clara had tried to defend herself earlier.

Chloe: She tried to ruin my perfect day! She deserved every bit of it!

Arthur: You put your hands on my family inside my own home?

Chloe: She is not family! She is a useless parasite living off your wealth! She was ruining my wedding arrangements on purpose, so I taught her a lesson she will never forget!

The crowd gasped louder this time. Nobody could believe that a bride on her wedding day could confess to such brutal violence with so much pride. Brandon, standing next to Chloe, looked around at the judging eyes of his friends, business colleagues, and family members. His hands began to shake violently as he realized that his entire life, his inheritance, and his reputation were crumbling into dust.

Brandon suddenly dropped down onto his knees right on the hard marble floor, the sharp sound echoing through the room. He crawled forward on his hands and knees toward Arthur, tears streaming down his face as he grabbed the edge of Arthur's white tuxedo trousers. He looked up at his uncle, sobbing like a terrified child who had just been caught in a terrible lie.

Brandon: I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, Uncle Arthur! I tried to stop her, I swear I did!

Arthur: You watched her bleed and you did nothing! You are a coward!

Brandon: Please, do not cut me off! I will fix this, I promise!
