The Law Arrives At The Estate

A Father Finds His Precious Child Forced Into Maid Work

Within ten minutes, red and blue lights flashed through the tall glass windows of the grand foyer. Two police cruisers pulled up the circular driveway, followed closely by a paramedic unit. The loud sound of sirens filled the quiet neighborhood, bringing neighbors out onto their lawns to watch the drama unfold.

Three uniformed Dallas police officers entered the house through the wide open front doors. They took in the scene rapidly: the bucket of dirty water, the maid uniform on Clara, Victoria sitting defeated on the floor, and Mark holding his crying child close to his chest.

Officer Davis: What happened here, sir?

Mark: This woman was hired as a house manager. The moment I left for a business trip, she stripped my daughter of her belongings and forced her into forced labor under threat of violence.

Victoria: He pushed me! Look at my arm! I am the victim of assault here!

Officer Davis: Ma'am, stay quiet and sit on that bench right now while we investigate.

A female paramedic approached Mark and gently checked Clara's small hands and knees. She documented the red marks, the chemical burns from the harsh cleaner, and the bruises on Clara's arms where Victoria had grabbed her roughly. Every piece of evidence was recorded carefully for the official police report.

Paramedic: Her hands need proper medical treatment and bandage wraps. The chemicals she was using without gloves are far too harsh for a child's delicate skin.

Mark: Take her to the hospital. I will follow right behind you in my car.

Officer Davis: We have seen enough here today. Victoria, stand up and place your hands behind your back.

Victoria began shouting hysterical excuses as the police officer pulled her arms behind her back and clicked the metal handcuffs around her wrists. She tried to pull away, but the officer held her securely and led her out the front door toward the waiting police cruiser in front of the estate.
