David held Sarah tightly as they climbed up the wooden steps.
He helped her step out onto the sunlit marble hallway floor.
Little Ella ran over and hugged her mother's knees tightly.
Ella: Mommy! You came back home!
Sarah: I am safe now, baby girl.
Suddenly the front double doors of the mansion swung wide open.
Thomas walked inside holding a thick leather briefcase tightly.
He stopped dead when he saw Sarah standing in the hall.
Thomas: What is going on here?
David stepped directly between his brother and his family.
David: You locked my wife in a basement hole, Thomas!
Thomas took a quick step back toward the front door.
Thomas: You were never supposed to find that latch, David.
David: Hand over that briefcase right now!
Thomas: Dad left everything to you in his final will!
Thomas: I deserved half of the family estate money too!
David: So you trapped Sarah to cover up your theft?
Thomas: I was going to leave the country this afternoon!
Thomas reached into his jacket pocket very quickly.
David reacted instantly and pushed his brother back against the wall.
The heavy leather briefcase dropped and spilled across the marble.
Dozens of legal papers and bonds scattered everywhere on the floor.
Sarah: David, call the police right now!
Thomas tried to scramble toward the open front door again.
David grabbed his brother's jacket collar with both hands.
David: You are not going anywhere after what you did!
