The heavy front door suddenly rattled as someone knocked hard.
David walked over and opened the tall wooden entrance door.
Two local police officers stood outside on the wide porch.
David had pressed a silent emergency button on his phone app.
The officers stepped inside the bright high-key white foyer.
They looked at Lily in her torn maid outfit in shock.
Officer: Sir, we received an emergency alarm call from here.
David: Thank you for arriving so quickly, officers.
David pointed at Victoria, who froze on the marble staircase.
David: That woman physically abused and forced my young daughter.
Victoria gasped loudly and held onto the wooden stair railing.
Victoria: Officers, he is lying to cover up a fight!
Officer: Ma'am, please step down the stairs right now slowly.
The lead officer looked at the scrapes on Lily's arms.
He pulled out a small notepad to write down notes.
Officer: Young lady, can you tell me what happened today?
Lily took a step forward and spoke with a brave voice.
Lily: She made me clean for six hours without food.
Victoria: She is a liar who refuses to do chores!
David: Look at her clothes and her injuries right now!
The second officer walked toward Victoria on the main stairs.
He noticed the gold bracelet stolen from the family safe.
Officer: Ma'am, we need you to step outside with us.
Victoria: You cannot arrest me inside my own home, officer!
David: This house title is solely in my personal name.
Victoria looked around the large foyer with complete desperation now.
She realized her luxurious lifestyle was completely over today.
Her cruel scheme to control the family had failed miserably.
Victoria: David, please do not ruin my life over this!
David: You ruined your own life when you hurt Lily.
The officer placed handcuffs securely around Victoria's slender wrists.
She cried out in shock as the metal clicked shut loudly.
Victoria: This is a massive mistake you will pay for!
David: Take her away from my family forever right now.
