Evelyn realized her rich life in the mansion was ending right now.
She looked around at the judgmental faces of all the wealthy neighbors.
Nobody stepped forward to offer her a comforting word or a hand.
Her cruelty toward a young child had been laid bare for all.
Evelyn: You are making a huge mistake over a simple silly moment!
Mark: My daughter's safety is never a mistake to me, Evelyn.
Mark turned his back on the woman in the shining gold dress.
He carried Lily inside the quiet house to get her a dry towel.
He wrapped a warm blue blanket around her small shivering shoulders safely.
Lily rested her wet head against her father's chest and relaxed slowly.
Lily: Is she going to stay here with us anymore, Daddy?
Mark: No, sweet girl, she will never hurt you ever again here.
Outside, Evelyn tried to explain her side to the staying party guests.
Every guest turned their back on her and walked toward their cars.
Within twenty minutes, two city police cars pulled into the driveway slowly.
Mark had sent the raw security footage directly to the local precinct.
The officers stepped onto the patio with handcuffs ready in hand.
Evelyn raised her voice in anger as the police reached her side.
Evelyn: You have no right to put your hands on me today!
Officer: You are under arrest for endangerment of a young minor.
The officers placed the metal cuffs around her slim gold-adorned wrists.
They led her away past the high white walls of the estate.
Mark watched from the living room window with a deep inner calm.
Justice was finally being served for the harm done to his child.
He knew the road ahead would require time and healing for Lily.
But the toxic presence in their home was gone for good now.
