A Father Discovers What His New Wife Kept Hidden Away

Brenda came marching down the stairs dragging two heavy leather suitcases behind her frame.

She glared at Mark with sharp, bitter hatred as she reached the bottom hallway floor.

Brenda: I am leaving, but my attorney will contact you about my share of this property!

Mark: You are getting nothing from this estate, Brenda. I found your hidden lawyer files.

Brenda stopped dead in her tracks, her face instantly losing all of its bright color.

Brenda: You had no legal right to go through my private personal paper files, Mark!

Mark: You tried to scheme against my daughter and take away her rightful family inheritance!

Before Brenda could utter another word, red light flashed through the front window glass.

Two local police cruisers pulled into the driveway, their lights shining brightly outside.

Officer Miller walked up the front steps and knocked firmly on the wooden front door.

Mark opened the door wide and welcomed the two uniformed police officers into the hallway.

Officer Miller: Mr. Mark, we received a call regarding child endangerment and trespassing here.

Mark: This woman locked my seven year old daughter in her bedroom from the outside frame.

Brenda: That is an absolute lie! He is just trying to frame me during a divorce!

Lily stepped out into the bright hallway, clutching her mother's silver locket tightly now.

Lily: She took my mom's necklace and locked my door every single afternoon, Officer.

Officer Miller turned to his partner and gave a firm nod toward Brenda's standing position.

Officer Miller: Ma'am, you need to step outside with us right now to clarify these allegations.

Brenda attempted to argue, but the officers escorted her firmly out the front doorway.

She was led down the concrete steps toward the waiting police car in full public view.

The neighbors stood along the peaceful suburban street, watching the scene unfold in silence.

Brenda was placed into the back of the patrol vehicle as the engine started up.

Mark stood on the front porch with his arm wrapped securely around Lily's shoulder.
