David carefully placed baby Toby down onto a soft decorative rug nearby.
He helped Emily sit up comfortably against the bright white wall.
"Stay right here with your brother," David said in a low tone.
He stood up quickly and squared his broad shoulders in sheer determination.
David marched aggressively down the hallway straight toward his cold wife.
Sarah's eyes widened in sudden panic as David rushed right up to her.
"How could you leave our daughter on the floor like that?" he yelled.
"She was making a ridiculous scene!" Sarah snapped back without any remorse.
"She fell over her own crutches because she was running inside!"
"She was trying to hide from you!" David shouted in response.
"What have you been telling these children while I am away at work?"
Sarah took a step back into the bedroom and raised her right chin.
"I am trying to discipline them so they respect this house!" she claimed.
"You spoil them constantly with gifts and special trust fund promises!"
David shook his head in absolute disgust at her terrible words.
"You are cruel, Sarah," David said with harsh clarity in his voice.
"I brought you into this luxury estate and gave you everything you wanted."
"You do not care about this family at all," he added coldly.
Sarah laughed bitterly and pulled a legal paper from her desk drawer.
"I care about my fair share of your estate, David!" she snapped.
David realized that Sarah had been planning a hidden legal battle all along.
She wanted to make him look unfit so she could get full custody.
Her cruelty toward the children was a twisted way to provoke a fight.
