Mark sat at the dark dining table with his attorney.
The large estate home was quiet while police cars parked outside.
Rachel sat on the sofa nearby holding a warm mug.
Claire was upstairs resting safely under Rachel's watchful friend's care.
Attorney: We have enough evidence to file for full separation.
Mark put his head in his hands and breathed heavily.
Mark: How did I let this happen under my own roof?
Rachel: She tricked all of us with her fake sweet voice.
The attorney pulled several official paper documents out of his bag.
Attorney: There is something else you need to see, Mark.
Mark looked up from the wooden table with weary eyes.
Mark: What else could she possibly have done to us?
Attorney: Eleanor tried to transfer Claire's trust fund last week.
Mark stood up from his chair so fast it rattled.
Mark: That trust fund belongs to my late wife's estate!
Attorney: She submitted forged signature papers to the local bank.
Rachel gasped and put her hand over her open mouth.
Rachel: She was trying to take everything and leave Claire broke!
Mark: She used my daughter to get access to that money.
A police officer walked into the dining room with Eleanor.
Eleanor had metal cuffs secured tightly around her wrists now.
Eleanor: Mark, tell them this is all just a huge mistake!
Mark stared at Eleanor with cold, dark determination in his eyes.
Mark: You will never set foot inside this house ever again.
Eleanor: You need me to help raise your daughter, Mark!
Mark: My daughter is safe from your cruelty starting today.
The officer led Eleanor out through the grand double front doors.
Mark watched her get pushed into the back of the car.
He turned back to his sister with tears in his eyes.
Mark: I need to fix everything I broke in this house.
Rachel: We will fix it together as a real family now.
