Daniel pulled into the driveway, tires screeching against the smooth concrete.
He left the car door wide open and sprinted to the entrance.
From inside, he could hear Rachel screaming angrily at his child.
He slammed his key into the lock and threw the door open.
The heavy wooden front door hit the wall with a thunderous bang.
In the open living room, Rachel was pulling Sophie toward the closet.
Sophie was on the floor, weeping hysterically and trying to break free.
Daniel: RACHEL!
Daniel's voice roared through the mansion, shaking the very walls.
Rachel froze in shock, turning her head toward the front entrance.
Daniel rushed across the hardwood floor with terrifying speed and purpose.
He stepped right between them, forcing Rachel to drop her grip entirely.
Rachel stumbled backward, almost losing her balance on the rug.
Sophie scrambled across the floor and wrapped her arms around Daniel's leg.
Sophie: Daddy! Please don't leave me again! She does worse when you're gone!
The sight of his terrified daughter broke Daniel's heart into a thousand pieces.
He bent down, lifted Sophie safely into his arms, and stepped back.
Daniel: You will never put your hands on my daughter again!
Rachel smoothed her maroon blouse, trying to regain her calm demeanor.
Rachel: Daniel, listen to me. She threw a massive temper tantrum!
Daniel: I watched everything on the security cameras, you monster!
Rachel's face paled completely as her confident facade crumbled away.
Rachel: You... you put cameras in the house?
Daniel: Yes! I saw every single thing you did to her!
Rachel took a step backward toward the kitchen back exit door.
Rachel: It was just a misunderstanding, Daniel. Let's talk about this calmly.
Daniel: There is nothing left to talk about. Your cruelty ends right now.
Before Rachel could move any further, red and blue lights flashed outside.
Sirens blared softly as two police cruisers pulled into the driveway.
Rachel panicked and tried to turn around to reach the back exit.
Daniel stepped forward swiftly, blocking her path with his broad frame.
Daniel: You are not going anywhere.
