Later that afternoon, the sun began to sink behind the surrounding pine trees.
Mark was working inside his first floor study while reviewing financial documents for the family mortgage.
Sarah decided to walk up to the second floor balcony to catch some fresh evening air.
The balcony had high marble railings that overlooked the massive double-height living room below.
It was Sarah's favorite spot to relax and feel the gentle cool breeze on her face.
As she leaned against the stone structure, she heard footsteps approaching from behind her.
Amanda stepped onto the upper balcony while wearing a tight bright red dress.
Her eyes were cold as she watched Sarah gently touch her baby bump.
Amanda: Enjoying the luxury view that my father paid for?
Sarah: Amanda, this estate belongs to the family trust fund now.
Amanda: My father meant for me to have this house before you ruined everything!
Sarah stepped backward slightly while maintaining her balance on the polished floor.
Sarah: Mark and I never asked for any special treatment in the father's will.
Amanda: You tricked him into putting Mark in charge of the entire life insurance policy!
Sarah: That was your father's choice because he trusted Mark's business mind.
Amanda took three fast steps closer until she was only inches away from Sarah.
Amanda: You think you are so safe just because you are having his child.
Sarah: Please step back, Amanda, you are making me very uncomfortable.
Amanda: Without that baby, Mark would listen to me again!
Sarah felt a cold chill run down her spine as she noticed Amanda's hands clenching into fists.
She realized that Amanda was not thinking logically anymore.
Sarah: Stay away from me!
Amanda: You brought this on yourself!
Amanda shoved her hands forward against Sarah's shoulders with full force.
Sarah lost her footing and hit the wooden edge of the upper railing hard.
The force tipped her balance back over the dangerous height.
A loud scream rang out through the grand estate as Sarah fell backward into empty air.
