Clara walked briskly toward the private garden entrance near the outdoor altar.
Her long white bridal gown brushed softly against the manicured green grass.
David followed her closely with a confused look on his pale face.
David: Clara please slow down so we can talk about this privately.
Clara: You did not defend me when she accused me in public!
David: I was simply shocked by her sudden wild claims about money.
Clara stopped near a tall marble fountain tucked behind rose bushes.
She pulled her smartphone out from the tiny hidden pocket of her dress.
Clara: Your aunt has been trying to break us up for months.
David: She is just protective of our family business and estate.
Clara: She wants the trust fund money for her own selfish desires!
David rubbed his forehead as a heavy sigh escaped his lips.
David: My father trusted her with the legal files long ago.
Clara: Then your father was fooled by her greedy games just like you!
The warm summer wind carried the distant murmurs of the waiting guests.
Clara tapped the bright smartphone screen with her trembling thumb.
Clara: I am calling my family lawyer right now to clear this up.
David: Do we really need to involve lawyers on our wedding day?
Clara: Yes because your silence proved you do not trust me yet!
David reached out to touch her arm with a gentle hand.
David: I do love you Clara more than anything in Texas.
Clara: Love requires trust when false accusations start flying around us.
Evelyn stepped around the high rose bushes with a mean grin.
Evelyn: Calling your attorney will not change the signed contract my dear.
Clara: Stop following us like a shadow Aunt Evelyn!
Evelyn: I am protecting my brother's legacy from an outsider like you.
David: Aunt Evelyn please leave us alone for five minutes.
Evelyn: Look at her phone David she is calling her rich father!
Clara held the phone firmly against her ear as it rang.
Clara: Please answer me Dad I need your help right now!
The phone line continued to ring without an immediate answer.
Evelyn laughed softly under her breath near the blooming red roses.
Evelyn: Even your own father knows this marriage is a mistake.
Clara: Do not speak about my father in that disrespectful tone!
David: Everyone please stop shouting at each other right now!
Clara looked at David with tears glistening in her green eyes.
Clara: Choose right now David whether you stand with me or her.
