Brenda walked down the quiet hospital hallway toward Evelyn's private room on the third floor.
She saw Mark standing outside the glass door talking angrily to a corporate lawyer.
Mark turned around and blocked the doorway as soon as he saw Brenda coming.
Mark: You have no right to be here after what you did!
Brenda: I have every right to check on Evelyn, Mark!
Mark: Get out before I call the hospital security guards on you!
Brenda: I know about your massive financial debts and the secret bank papers!
Mark froze instantly as his face lost all of its confident color.
Mark: You don't know what you are talking about at all.
Brenda: The police already have copies of every single contract you signed!
The doctor stepped out of the room quietly and asked them both to enter.
Evelyn was sitting up in the hospital bed with a white bandage on her head.
She looked weak but her eyes were completely clear and focused on her family.
Mark rushed to her side trying to look like a caring and devoted son.
Mark: Mom, Brenda is the one who pushed you down the stairs!
Evelyn raised her hand slowly and shook her head firm at her son.
Evelyn: Stop lying, Mark. I slipped on my own shoes because I rushed.
Mark stood frozen in shock as his entire plan collapsed around him in seconds.
